[ACADEMIA] Aug. 5, 2016 – Vaccaro-Incisa invited to speaking at the roundtable on Humanitarianism and the Transformation of International Law (Melbourne)

Aug. 1, 2016. Within the framework of the prestigious Laureate Program in International Law, on Aug. 4-5, Dr. Vaccaro-Incisa has been selected to participate, along some of the world’s authority on the matter (Harvard’s Prof. Modirzadeh, Yale’s Prof. March, Melbourne’s Prof. Orford), to the roundtable on Humanitarianism and the Transformation of International Law.

He will share his research findings on the relationship between the principles of territorial integrity and self-determination in international law, in the context of post-Charter undemocratic border adjustments within federal unions.

[ACADEMIA] May 27th, 2016 – Vaccaro-Incisa invited as Visiting Research Scholar at Melbourne Law School

May 27th, 2016: between June and September, 2016, Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa will be hosted as Visiting Research Scholar at the Law School of Melbourne University, one of the finest institution worldwide in many fields, including international economic law.

Working with Prof. Jurgen Kurtz, Director of the International Investment Law Program of the Institute for International Law and the Humanities, he will focus on completing some research endeavors and offering a seminar series on the policy and practice in international investment law of the People’s Republic of China and ASEAN Member States.

Apr. 22nd, 2016. Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa has been invited to preside the panel on Foundations of International Investment Law at the Bucerius Law Journal Conference on International Investment Law & Arbitration organized by Bucerius Law School (Hamburg, Germany).

Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa’s panel will comprise the following topics and speakers:

He will also serve as Judge for the International Rounds of the 57th edition of the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.

Feb. 25th, 2016. Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa has been invited to participate to the next meeting of Experts on International Investment Agreements organized by the United Nations Commission for Trade and Development (UNCTAD), held at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, on Mar. 16th-17th.

The Firm is pleased to note that Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa’s participation has been greeted by UNCTAD with the following words:

Mar. 2016. The book Legal Risks in EU Law, published by Springer (ISBN 3319285955), has been released. The contributors are all members of the Global Legal Networks of jurists. Flowing from the research initially presented at the C3RD conference of Oct. 2014, Prof. Vaccaro-Incisa authored the chapter on “Protection of Foreign Investment and the EU: Framework, Legal Risks, and First Fruits”.

Jan. 4th, 2016. The Firm is proud to announce that Dr. Vaccaro-Incisa has been appointed Assistant Professor of International Law, and permanent faculty member, at IESEG School of Management, in Paris, world-top 20 institution in its category and among France’s best and most appreciated schools. He will join IESEG on Feb. 1st, 2016.

While retaining his practice of law on selected international legal issues, and carrying out the academic research in the domains of public international law and international investment law, Dr. Vaccaro-Incisa will contribute to the establishment of the Double Degree in International Business Law, that will be inaugurated in Sept. 2016.

Jul.-Sept. 2015 – Visiting Research Fellow at University of Buenos Aires

Between July and September, 2015, Dr. Vaccaro-Incisa will be Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).

He will work with Prof. Raúl Vinuesa and Prof. Silvina Gonzalez Napolitano. Professor Vinuesa, the most respected Argentine arbitrator in the field of international investment law, is Professor of Public International Law and Director of the Degree in International Law at UBA. Professor Gonzalez Napolitano is Professor of Public International Law at UBA, and Member of the Argentine State Prosecutor Office on international investment law matters and cases.

During his permanence, Dr. Vaccaro-Incisa will deliver two seminars: first, the evolution of the regime for the protection of foreign investment in the three principal investment areas (EU, US, PRC); second, an alternative legal rationale for the Crimean transfer, from Ukraine to Russia.
